The history of this
school is associated with "The Gorkhali
Soldiers who worked under the
British-India-Army and sacrificed their
lives during the First and Second World
War. Thousands of Gorkhali soldiers were
killed and many of them disappeared. The
payment due to those missing soldiers
was established in the name of "Post-war
Reconstruction Fund" for the welfare of
Gorkhali ex-soldiers' families. In 1955,
colonel P.C. Mohan the then military
secretary of Indian Embassy came to
Pokhara and visited Late Major Bir Singh
Gurung. He talked with Major Bir Singh
Gurung and expressed his willingness to
establish a school and hospital for the
welfare of Gorkhali ex-soldiers'
families with the use of "Post-war
Reconstruction Fund". Indian Government
formed Central Co-ordination Board (CCB)
to use the PWRF. With this fund;
"Ex-Indian Gorkha Soldiers' Board
Vocational Training High School" was
established on 26th March 1957 in the
land donated by Mukhiya Dev Raj Ghimire
and Ghimire families.
